The Steering Committee for Mission Work exists to assist the Consistory of the First Reformed Church of Bulacan in the orderly oversight, direction, and development of the church’s mission efforts, in accordance with the Word of God and the doctrines of the Reformed faith.
The Steering Committee functions under the authority and supervision of the Consistory of the First Reformed Church of Bulacan, which serves as the calling and sending church of all mission works and laborers.
The Consistory retains full ecclesiastical authority over doctrine, discipline, and the administration of the sacraments in all mission fields.
The Steering Committee serves in an advisory, administrative, and coordinative capacity only, and does not exercise independent ecclesiastical authority.
All major decisions, including the appointment of workers, establishment of mission stations, and administration of resources, are subject to the approval of the Consistory.
The Committee shall regularly report to the Consistory and seek its guidance in all matters pertaining to mission work.
To prayerfully study and propose mission strategies consistent with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20).
To identify areas and opportunities for evangelism and church planting.
To ensure that all mission work remains in full conformity with the Reformed confessions upheld by the church.
To assist the Consistory in safeguarding doctrinal purity in mission fields.
To coordinate mission activities under the oversight of the Consistory.
To support and communicate regularly with mission workers and laborers sent by the church.
To evaluate the progress and condition of mission works.
To submit regular reports and recommendations to the Consistory.
To assist in preparing and training prospective workers in doctrine, evangelism, and church life.
To promote catechetical instruction in mission areas.
To recommend the proper allocation and use of mission funds, subject to Consistory approval.
To ensure accountability and faithful stewardship in all mission-related resources.
To encourage the church in prayer for mission works and laborers.
To maintain a pastoral concern for the spiritual condition of mission stations.
The Steering Committee is accountable to the Consistory and shall act only within the bounds of the authority delegated to it. It shall not act independently of the Consistory in matters of doctrine, discipline, or church government.
